Nick Huesser was born in Camden, New Jersey, and raised about a dozen miles away in West Deptford—both just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, the “City of Brotherly Love.” The youngest of four siblings, with two sisters and a brother, Nick attended West Deptford Elementary and Middle School, where he played soccer and basketball. Around this time, his lifelong love of all things Disney began. His favorite early memory is his first trip to Disney World during “Jersey Week,” which takes place the first week of November each year. Of everyone in the family, Nick caught the Disney bug the worst—followed closely by his mother, who was, and still is, a stewardess for United Airlines.

When Nick reached West Deptford High School, he switched his athletic focus to wrestling while also working at Advanced Auto Parts and taking on other warehouse and delivery jobs. Around this time, he met his future wife, Nicolina, though they wouldn’t begin dating until later. After high school, Nick attended UNC Charlotte while Nicolina went to Widener University with Nick’s best friend. Fortunately, Nick was able to see her whenever he visited, and those visits became more frequent. They began dating in 2011 and were married in 2017.

Before tying the knot, Nick joined the Army as a Psychological Operations Specialist (PSYOPS). He spent two years on active duty at Fort Bragg in North Carolina near Fayetteville, followed by four years in the Reserves at Fort Dix in New Jersey—just down the road from where he grew up. In 2015, he joined his brother at Vortex Supply in Barrington, New Jersey. The company was later acquired by Runyon Surface Prep in 2023. Today, Nick serves as Operations Manager for Runyon East, overseeing operations at both the Barrington and Little Ferry locations.

Nick and Nicolina have two children, Nathaniel and Nellie, along with a feisty Golden Retriever named Loki. In addition to sharing a love for all things Disney, Nick and Nicolina have run 12 half-marathons together. They also enjoy seeking out new steakhouses and attending as many concerts and shows as possible. In short, they love to travel. Nick proposed in Paris. The couple spent their honeymoon visiting all three Disney properties—in Hawaii, California, and Florida—and later celebrated their anniversary in China. In fact, Nick has already visited 40 states. Now that he has his motorcycle license, this diehard Eagles and Phillies fan hopes to check a few more states off the list on his Harley Nightster.
Nick is a treasure trove of Surface Prep knowledge, and his passion and dedication are integral to our success on the East Coast. Thank you, Nick, for all that you do!
