Brooke Lynn Runyon Sprouse was born in Indianapolis in 1995, a year that marked the transition from grunge to “prep and plaid” with the release of the hit movie Clueless and the launch of Amazon and eBay. She has three sisters and two brothers, and when her father passed away from glioblastoma multiforme when she was just 2½ years old, her mother faced the challenge of raising all of them on her own. Even at an early age, Brooke was drawn to sports, and one of her favorite childhood memories is watching the 2000 Olympics with her great-grandmother Sherley.
Cross country, gymnastics, and spending time with her sisters filled Brooke’s early years. Together they ran around the backyard, played in the dirt, and spent countless hours in their treehouse. During the winter, they would pile onto a tarp while their neighbor and distant relative, Dennis, pulled them around a field behind his truck. By high school, ceramics had become her favorite class, and she dreamed of becoming an art therapist. She worked at Arby’s in Noblesville, nannied during the summers, and traveled to both England and France on school trips. Despite these interests and experiences, sports remained her greatest passion. By the time she graduated from Noblesville High School in 2013, she had earned 12 varsity letters and received her athletic blanket.
Brooke began her college career at the University of Indianapolis before transferring to Indiana University Kokomo after her first semester. Alongside her coursework, she completed a Red Cross/NAIA leadership program in Washington, D.C., where she met her best friend, Helen. She also helped coordinate blood drives on campus. In 2018, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a minor in psychology. Not ready to leave academia just yet, Brooke continued taking classes, served as a graduate assistant, and helped plan fall and spring events for the Student Life and Campus Diversity Office. In 2020, she earned her master’s degree in public administration.
On Labor Day in 2019, Brooke welcomed her daughter, Aspen, into the world. Now a first grader, Aspen loves gymnastics, dogs, and playing in the dirt—just like her mom. When Brooke isn’t taking trips to Disney or Kings Island with Aspen, she enjoys spending time with her sisters, all of whom live in Hamilton County and have children of similar ages. In October 2021, Brooke joined Runyon Surface Prep and has been a valued member of the marketing department ever since.
Brooke met Trevor Sprouse through a college running friend, and on July 17, 2024, the two were married in Santorini, Greece. Shortly afterward, Brooke reignited her passion for running through a Runyon Fitness Challenge. She is now focused on marathon running and completed her first marathon in Milwaukee in April 2026. Outside of family, work and running, Brooke enjoys Panda Express, a good steak, her dinosaur tattoo, and the Indy 500.
Today, Brooke serves as RSP’s primary photographer and videographer. She is a key member of our event planning team and plays an integral role in everything from website updates to the Runyon clothing line. Thank you, Brooke, for being such a positive and cheerful part of the Runyon team. We truly appreciate all that you do!
